1. Human and Animal Research Ethics

  • Human Studies: Must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Ethics Committee is mandatory and should be explicitly stated in the manuscript.

  • Animal Studies: Must comply with the ARRIVE guidelines and internationally recognized standards for humane animal care. Authors must provide the name of the ethical approval body and reference number.

2. Informed Consent Policy

  • Written informed consent must be obtained from all human participants or their legal guardians.

  • Identifiable patient data (e.g., names, images, case details) must not be published without explicit written consent.

  • A consent statement must be included in the manuscript.

3. Research Reporting Guidelines and Checklists

JPIMC endorses the use of internationally recognized research reporting standards to improve clarity, transparency, and reproducibility. Authors must submit the relevant checklist(s) with their manuscripts:

  • Randomized Controlled Trials: CONSORT (Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials)

  • Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses: PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses)

  • Observational Studies: STROBE (Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology)

  • Case Reports: CARE (Case Report Guidelines)

  • Diagnostic Accuracy Studies: STARD (Standards for Reporting of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies)

  • Qualitative Research: COREQ (Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research)

  • Non-Randomized Studies of Interventions: TREND (Transparent Reporting of Evaluations with Nonrandomized Designs)

Author Responsibility

  • Authors must download, complete, and submit the appropriate checklist (available at EQUATOR Network) with their manuscript.

  • The completed checklist should be uploaded as a supplementary file during submission.

  • Failure to comply may delay the review process.
