Journal of Pak International Medical College (JPIMC)

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Pak International Medical College (JPIMC) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published regularly with four issues per year:

  • Issue 1 (Winter Edition): January – March

  • Issue 2 (Spring Edition): April – June

  • Issue 3 (Summer Edition): July – September

  • Issue 4 (Fall Edition): October – December

Scope of Submissions

JPIMC welcomes high-quality manuscripts in the following categories:

  • Original Research Articles (2,500–4,000 words)

  • Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (3,000–5,000 words)

  • Review Articles (up to 4,000 words)

  • Case Reports / Case Series (1,000–1,500 words)

  • Short Communications / Brief Reports (1,000–2,000 words)

  • Editorials / Commentaries (800–1,200 words; by invitation only)

All submissions must demonstrate scientific rigor, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance to medicine, clinical sciences, or public health.

Manuscript Submission

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS) or through the official editorial email.

  • Submissions should be prepared in Microsoft Word (2007 or later), using:

    • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

    • Double spacing, 1-inch margins

  • Authors are required to carefully follow the Instructions for Authors provided on the journal’s website.

Keywords

Authors must provide 3–6 keywords at the end of the abstract.

  • Keywords must be chosen from the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) database.

  • Non-standard abbreviations, vague terms, or overly broad descriptors (e.g., “disease,” “therapy”) should be avoided.

Example: Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2; Insulin Resistance; Hemoglobin A, Glycosylated; Retinal Diseases; Pakistan.

References Style ..

JPIMC follows the Vancouver referencing style (ICMJE Recommendations).

  • References must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text, using superscript Arabic numerals (e.g., “…as reported earlier.¹⁻³”).

  • The reference list must appear at the end of the manuscript.

  • Journal titles must be abbreviated according to the Index Medicus (Medline) style.

  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use EndNote (or equivalent reference management software) with the Vancouver output style to ensure accuracy and uniformity.

Ethical Considerations

  • Ethical Approval: Research involving human participants must include approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee.

  • Informed Consent: Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained where applicable.

  • Animal Research: Studies involving animals must comply with internationally accepted standards of animal care and welfare.

  • Conflicts of Interest: All potential conflicts must be disclosed.

  • Plagiarism: Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Overlap, duplication, or falsification will result in rejection in accordance with COPE guidelines.
