The Journal of Pak International Medical College (JPIMC) is a peer-reviewed, double-blind, fully open-access biomedical journal published quarterly by Pak International Medical College, Peshawar, Pakistan.
JPIMC is dedicated to advancing medical education, clinical practice, biomedical sciences, public health, and healthcare research through the publication and dissemination of scientifically sound, ethically conducted, and methodologically rigorous scholarly work.

Publication Frequency
The Journal of Pak International Medical College (JPIMC) is published quarterly, with four regular issues per calendar year:

Special issues or supplements may be published when scientifically justified. Research articles published in special issues or supplements are subject to the same applicable editorial, ethical, and external peer-review requirements as regular issues.
The Editor-in-Chief retains overall editorial responsibility for all content published by the journal, including special issues and supplements.
Open Access Policy
JPIMC is a fully open-access journal. All published scholarly articles are made immediately and permanently available online without subscription, registration, access fees, or embargo.
Readers may read, download, copy, search, link to, and reuse published articles in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license.
All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
The CC BY-NC 4.0 license permits users to share and adapt published work for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the journal, the source, and the license.
Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting JPIMC the right of first publication and the non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, archive, and preserve the work in accordance with the journal's copyright and licensing policy.
Editorial and Peer-Review Process
JPIMC follows a double-blind external peer-review process.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal. The initial assessment considers the journal's scope, originality, scientific quality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and potential plagiarism or inappropriate text overlap.
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are sent for external peer review.
Each research article is evaluated by a minimum of two independent external peer reviewers with relevant subject expertise.
During double-blind peer review, the identities of authors are concealed from reviewers, and the identities of reviewers are concealed from authors.

Based on reviewer recommendations and the Editor's assessment, the editorial decision may be:

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers when further external assessment is required.
The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriately delegated editor.
Editorials, invited commentaries, letters, and other non-research content may undergo an appropriate editorial assessment rather than the full external peer-review process, depending on the article type.

Case Reports and Patient Consent
JPIMC requires appropriate ethical and publication safeguards for case reports and case series.
Authors must obtain written informed consent for publication from the patient or legally authorized representative, where applicable, when a case contains potentially identifiable clinical information, photographs, radiological images, pathological images, or other identifiable material.
Authors must remove unnecessary identifying information and comply with applicable patient confidentiality requirements.
Case reports should follow the CARE reporting guideline where applicable.
Each case report must include an appropriate statement regarding consent for publication.

Authors retain copyright of their published work.

Article Processing and Publication Charges
JPIMC is a fully open-access journal supported partly through transparent article processing and publication charges.

No fee is charged at the initial submission stage.
The PKR 10,000 processing fee is applicable for the editorial and manuscript-processing stage according to the journal's fee policy.
The PKR 30,000 publication fee is applicable to manuscripts accepted for publication and covers the journal's production and publication services.
The total applicable processing and publication charges are therefore PKR 40,000 per accepted article.
Fee and Editorial Independence
Payment of any processing or publication fee does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
Editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality, originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, relevance, and overall merit of the manuscript.
Author fees do not influence peer review, editorial decisions, or acceptance decisions.
The journal does not provide preferential editorial treatment based on payment of publication charges.
All applicable fees are disclosed to authors before publication.
